The Tenancy Officer delivers high quality tenancy management services to vulnerable individuals within the community.
MASP is seeking to fill a part time ongoing position, working 27.5 hours per week.
As MASP's Tenancy Officer, you will work closely with vulnerable individuals to ensure that their housing needs are met with sensitivity and professionalism and connect them with appropriate support services when needed. You will be a key point of contact, handling complex tenant inquiries with empathy, discretion and efficiency. Responsibilities include coordinating property inspections, managing rental agreements, and addressing tenant inquiries and concerns. Additionally, you will support the management of statutory reporting and compliance requirements, contributing to our operational efficiency.
Expected commencing salary of $38.46 per hour plus statutory superannuation. Because MASP is a non-profit organisation, you also have the option to maximise your income through salary packaging.

Essential role-specific skills, knowledge and experience
- Considerable experience in administration and the delivery of tenant and housing services to vulnerable people.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills together with written and verbal communication skills with a high level of customer service in an administrative environment.
- Ability to monitor rental payments, follow up arrears, and assist with rent increases and basic financial recordkeeping.
- Sound knowledge of tenancy rights, rental regulations, and community housing requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare documents, assist with dispute resolution, and attend VCAT hearings.
- Experience in general administrative tasks such as data entry, maintaining records, and preparing basic reports to support tenancy and organisational functions.
Highly desirable role-specific skills, knowledge and experience
- Experience in a not for profit / charitable organisation.
- Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework relevant to social housing.
- Certificate IV in Social Housing, Certificate IV in Property Services or Certificate IV in Business Administration or a related field
